HAROLD FORD, JR. ANNOUNCES HE WILL IMPOSE "TERM LIMIT"
on The Steve Gill Show
NASHVILLE, TN-Tennessee State Representative and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Harold Ford, Jr. announced this morning during his live in-studio visit with radio talk show host Steve Gill on The Steve Gill Show that [if elected] he would not run for more than two terms as U.S. Senator. Ford made the confident claim that if he (or the American citizens) did not feel that he did an adequate job during his first term as senator, he would not even seek a second term.
"I'll make you an even better promise.if we have not made progress on energy freedom, not made progress on the war on terrorism, not made progress on immigration reform, on lowering taxes.I won't run again,"* Ford told Nashville talk radio host, Steve Gill-making his declaration to listeners and potential voters all across Tennessee.
Ford made this announcement when he stopped by the WLAC Nashville studio to talk with Gill about the weeks leading up to the November 7 election.
This broadcast comes after Republican candidate Bob Corker accused Ford's campaign of showing "tremendous contradictions" on the issue of Iraq during a news conference held yesterday. The two candidates have been publicly sparring through television ads in a "he said, he said" debate.
*Audio of Ford's statement is available via MP3 by request.

NASHVILLE TALK RADIO HOST STEVE GILL
OFFERS COMMENTS ON SARA EVANS’ DIVORCE COMPLAINT
NASHVILLE, Tennessee--Steve Gill, recognized as one of the most influential radio talk show hosts (Business Tennessee and Talker’s Magazine) and a former attorney, (specializing in divorce law—24 years), who is located right in the midst of Music City’s biggest shocker, offers his expert opinion as it pertains to country music star Sara Evans “going public” with her allegations against husband, Craig Schelske.
Customarily, celebrity couples work hard to keep their private affairs private. As the Plaintiff in a Complaint for Divorce, filed yesterday, October 12, 2006, Sara Evans boldly laundered her personal affairs. (Complaint for Divorce in the Chancery Court for Williamson County TN, No. 32939)
"The specific details laid out in the Evans’ divorce complaint are a bit unusual and make it clear that Sara Evans (and her lawyer) has taken the gloves off right from the start. I suspect this was a pre-emptive strike intended to prevent gossip and speculation about what 'she' might have done to cause the divorce. By nuking her husband with specific, graphic details in the Divorce Complaint, she's trying to make it clear ‘she did nothing wrong.’"
"This is the sort of thing you expect from Hollywood, not from Music City in the buckle of the Bible belt. The tabloids will eat this up. By putting the lurid details in the Complaint, Evans and her lawyer knew they would create a media feeding frenzy.”
"In a town where cheatin' and drinkin' songs have long been a staple, the 'internet porn' and 'search engine' allegations in the Evans’ complaint will put Nashville songwriters searching for whole new sets of words that rhyme.”
"The fact that Evans' husband, Craig Schelske, was a “family values” Republican candidate for Congress in Oregon a few years ago, already has the political blogs burning up with comparisons to disgraced former Congressman Mark Foley. The aftershocks from this divorce complaint will reverberate in politics and entertainment throughout the weekend."
A qualified commentator, Steve Gill is available for live expert interviews or telephone conversation surrounding this topic.

GILL ANNOUNCES AFFORDABLE HEALTH INSURANCE SOLUTION FOR RESOLVING TENNCARE CRISIS.
(Nashville)- Nashville radio talk host Steve Gill today released a plan to provide affordable health insurance to 323,000 Tennesseans facing imminent termination from TennCare and for 600,000 other uninsured Tennesseans. "We are within days of seeing hundreds of thousands of our neighbors lose access to healthcare insurance," Gill noted in releasing his TNCARES plan, "If we don't act now to provide affordable access to health care for them and hundreds of thousands of other Tennesseans who are uninsured, we will face a health care crisis of epic proportions."
Gill's plan, the TennCare Comprehensive Accessibility and Responsibility Enhancement System (TNCARES) would make a new and affordable health insurance pool available to about one million Tennesseans who are being terminated from TennCare or are already uninsured. The plan would also legally require maintaining health insurance coverage as a matter of personal responsibility; much like car insurance is already required by law in Tennessee.
"The plan has three key components," according to Gill. "First, we will provide access to a catastrophic health plan with affordable monthly premiums, about $30 to $50 per month, that provides for discounted physician visits and prescription drugs. Second, all Tennesseans will be required to obtain and maintain health insurance, just as we are required to maintain car insurance. Finally, we will create a "safety net" to loan funds to those who cannot afford the deductible payments required under the proposed health insurance plan."
The TNCARES plan, along with a series of questions and answers about the plan, is available at www.gillreport.com.
"TNCARES will inject a huge dose of responsibility and accountability into the Tennessee health care arena. Even in third-world countries people expect to pay SOMETHING for healthcare, even if it means bringing a live chicken to their doctor. We have attempted to create a system where healthcare is "free" and "unlimited" for some, while others are paying the bills. We cannot "fix" TennCare unless or until we acknowledge and accept some fundamental financial realities. TNCARES can be an important first step in that direction."
Gill is an attorney and host of a top rated morning radio talk show in Nashville. Business TN magazine named him among the 50 Most Influential People in Tennessee in each of the past two years. He was also recently named among the Top 100 Talk Show Hosts in America by Talkers Magazine.
